100 times A Prayer June 2025

Are you wanting to develop your connection to medicine music and increase your musicianship skills in a supportive community? This workshop is for all skill levels -- whether you are an absolute beginner that would like to learn the words to a song so you can pray along with the altar, or have been making music for years this workshop is for you. Each participant will select one song that they commit to practice 100 times over the course of the workshop (20-25/week), with the goal of more deeply integrating the song and connecting more intimately with the prayer of the song. Additionally, over the course of 5 weekly sessions we will meet via Zoom to share the song each person has chosen to work on. Each participant will have approximately 10 min to share their progress and ask for any support. We will also take time to discuss any aspects of the process that come up and people would like to share -- challenges, insights, new perspectives. Additionally, José Akiba will be available via text and phone in between zoom meetings to provide additional 1-1 support. Note, due to the nature of this workshop, participants are asked to commit to the full 5 sessions.
